Diesel supply for Backup Critical Facilities

INPRO is a German-Spanish business group specialized, since more than 50 years. in the design and manufacture automatic fuel, pumping systems for critical backup installations, and industrial and commercial heat production. We develop engineering bespoke solutions for automatic supply of boilers and power generation plants, in hospitals, data centers, office buildings, residential buildings and malls.

Now we are experiencing an exponential growth in Middle East countries thanks to our strong partners in the region with whom we are carrying out critical installations projects such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

INPRO IN CRITICAL FACILITIES

Such facilities require design conditions with high security and redundancy level to offer the highest availability rate for uninterrupted backup power supply at diesel gensets, involving multiple diesel tanks, redundancy in paths and components, PLC control distributed but integrated to BMS, management of filtering systems and leak detection.

INPRO following the criteria of “The Uptime Institute” designs solutions for this type of infrastructures, as concurrently maintainable site based on the TIER certification.

PROJECT REFERENCES IN CRITICAL FACILITIES

THE VIEW HOSPITAL (QATAR)

Project requirements:

The customer requested Fuel System for Back up generators and Fuel Monitoring and Leak Detection system for various substations.

Our solution:

The complete installation consists of one fuel monitoring panel handling 3 duplex fuel supply systems to 6 gensets, controlling the automatic refill and reporting alarms to central BMS Each genset day tank is automatically refilled whenever level drops below 50% via a solenoid valve connected to the fuel monitoring panel.

All alerts (leak, low level, etc) are easily monitored at the CAG central fuel monitoring panel as well, according to the specific cause an effect protocol required.

AIRPORT ALGIERS

Project requirements:

The purpose of the system is to automate the filling of multiple daily tanks, by one or two pressure groups with enough flow to supply the demand of the generating sets, with maximum operational safety and avoid diesel spills in the installation, in addition of transmitting the data to a management system, to monitor the status of the facility.

Our solution:

There are three zones. The first one formed by 2 main tanks (T1-T2), 2 pressure groups of the GP-3200 GET type will suck, one from each tank, independent, and which will supply the first daily tanks;

The second one consists of 2 main tanks (T3-T4), 2 pressure groups of the GP-4200 GET type will suck, supplying another two daily tanks; And the third one, 1 main tank (T5) from which 1 pressure group of GP-1500 GET type will suck.

All the daily tanks have a double pump system, FP 50 GEW, capable of sending the diesel from the daily tanks to the main tanks, in order to avoid overflows, maintenance work or emptying daily tanks.

BOTANIC GARDEN OMAN

Project requirements:

The customer requested gas oil pumping to the daily service tanks of the normal operation power generator units.

Our solution:

The complete installation consists of two different fuel supply systems for the gensets, controlled by a PLC. The whole installation has two main storage tanks.

EQUINIX BARKA DATA CENTER OMAN

Project requirements:

The project consisted of automating and controlling the Diesel supply needs of 4 Emergency Power Generator Units from two main tanks, crosslinked in N+N Tier IV redundancy system.

Our solution:

4 interlinked diesel supply lines from 2 main tanks to 4x genset’s day tanks fitted at 2 different level. All controlled by a PLC based CAG+ panels, to provide dual master operation from each of the 2 panel.

Each main tank is equipped of water detectors, so it will be cancelled as supply line in case water is detected.
